Its Good To See the President on the Golf Course
Posted on October 28th, 2009 CommentsThere is a lot ado lately about the President dropping the hoops in favor of the links. On the most part it is not usual for our presidents to be on the golf course. Every president, with the acceptation of Jimmy Carter, in my memory of presidents have played golf. the reason for the fuss on President Obama spending time playing golf probably has to do with there being so many, many people in the world not having a clue what golf is all about.
President Kennedy, who had the most stress of all presidents with bringing our country out of the old way of doing things to the new way of doing things, was on the links quit a bit and has been proclaimed as the best golfer of all of the presidents. JFK’s predecessor, Eisenhower played over 100 rounds of golf a year. Reagan was ate up with golf as well as Gerald Ford and George H Bush. Even Bill Clinton spent his share of time on the tee box. While George W Bush dropped playing golf in 2003 to focus on our country’s troubles.
I applaud the President Obama taking to the links. It will do him, our country and GOLF good. So, Hail to the Chief, and Fore, for Mr President. Maybe Hank Haney can do a series of sessions with the Prez to get him ready to play in the Olympics..its just a thought.

6 years ago when I took on my mission to heighten the awareness of Golf’s virtues as an effective business tool I became exposed to what is now called Social Media.
