  • The Influence Tiger Woods Has on Young People

Posted on November 29th, 2009 MrBusinessGolf Comments

I took the time recently to sit and watch others hit golf balls on the driving range at my club.

What I found interesting is how the young people, 7 – 18 yrs old, mimic the jesters Tiger makes when he showcases his emotions on camera.  Some of what Tiger is teaching these young people is good and yet there are many things he is doing lately that are really bad.

I was watching a group of young teenage boys and girls on the range seemingly practicing Tiger’s new Right Hand Release of the club after impact he uses when he knows he has hit a errant shot.  Some of the boys even parley the hand release move with the Left Hand Hammer swing to the ground Tiger has now made famous.  Of course there was the one or two attempts to practice Tiger’s complete release of the club into the Gallery swing he recently displayed, but that was quickly squelched by the teaching pro standing at the end of the range giving lessons.

My thoughts quickly wondered to the recent news of Tiger’s traffic accident and all the rumors that are developing around that odd incident.  How will the kids interpret Tiger’s action of not reporting immediately to the public what exactly went on that early morning.  Will thousands of kids around the world now go out and hide their actions or not report the truth because they saw Tiger do it?  I am sure they will attempt it but will find it does not work since they are not Tiger Woods.  However, the attempt they make is a direct connection on how much influence Tiger has on the kids of the world.

I am sure Tiger is completely aware of his influence on not just young people, but the golfing public as a whole.  It will be interesting to see what unfolds from this latest teaching Tiger has given the world.  I hope knowing what is right and what is wrong will stay in people’s minds when we find out the real truth.

The strength of Social Media is in the efforts put into delivering the GTG mission to the public in a Social manor. Social Networking now is mainstream marketing.

The World of Marketing Has Changed

Since October 2008, when the bottom fell out of the business world, the trust people had with anyone in any business evaporated with the economy. Social Media had already been highlighted in the preceding Presidential campaigns… Read More

Was it just for fun or intended as a joke? Was it more than it turned out to be or what we hoped it to be? Are the stars of the CK vs JR golf match yesterday before the Super Bowl geniuses or just out to have fun?  The answer to all of these and hundreds of other questions is…

    YES!

What a great day… Read More

6 years ago when I took on my mission to heighten the awareness of Golf’s virtues as an effective business tool I became exposed to what is now called Social Media.  More specifically, Social Media for Golf is it is totally different for golf than the mainstream of the business community.  Seeing where Golf has gone since the hay days of a bright economy and where it is now I… Read More
