  • The Teachings of Golf

From time to time I ask people I meet if they know..

    What golf can teach you?

Golf teaches more than just how to hit a white ball around a golf course.  In order to play golf you have to learn the rules.  This seems to be the scary part for most beginners.  However, like everything in life, the more you play golf the more you learn the rules. There are a lot of rules to golf, but learning all of the rules is just one of the teachings of golf.

Along the way a golfer will learn to be humble.  Yes, that is hard for many golfers to learn but admitting defeat in the same manor as reveling in the win of a match is all part of what golf teaches you to do.

Honesty, integrity, Humility and Sportsmanship set the foundation of what golf teaches and to be a golfer you will have to learn all these aspects of golf to gain the respect of other golfers.  There is no faking or hiding the truth if you learned golf virtues.  It is demonstrated every time a golfer tees up the ball to play.

For some, learning these virtues of golf is hard and goes against the personality they have developed in the business world.   However, that is what makes golf one of the best training ads for business owners.  The overbearing sometimes obnoxious sales person will have to learn humility to be respected in golf.  The timid operations employee will have to learn assertiveness to be step up to the challenges golf presents.  Once these virtues are learned they naturally carry on into life which includes the way ones does business.

Everything from live style changes to communications skills is touched upon when learning to play golf.  All of these traits carry into the workplace developing the same harmony in the workplace as is demonstrated on the golf course.

I encourage every business person to learn golf and all of what golf teaches.  Golf..it is much more than a game.  Let me know how I can help.

The strength of Social Media is in the efforts put into delivering the GTG mission to the public in a Social manor. Social Networking now is mainstream marketing.

Was it just for fun or intended as a joke? Was it more than it turned out to be or what we hoped it to be? Are the stars of the CK vs JR golf match yesterday before the Super Bowl geniuses or just out to have fun?  The answer to all of these and hundreds of other questions is…

    YES!

6 years ago when I took on my mission to heighten the awareness of Golf’s virtues as an effective business tool I became exposed to what is now called Social Media.  More specifically, Social Media for Golf is it is totally different for golf than the mainstream of the business community.  Seeing where Golf has gone since the hay days of a bright economy and where it is now I… Read More
